The vulnerabilities addressed in Microsoft Security Bulletins MS06-040 and MS06-048 are of specific interest, as they have been targeted by attackers in the wild. Patches and mitigating strategies have been available since August 8, 2006. Administrators are advised to apply the patches as soon as possible and deploy mitigating strategies in the event that the patches cannot be deployed in a timely manner.
